Basketball Recap: Liberty Tree Academy Takes a Loss

Liberty Tree Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the North Platte Bulldogs, falling 73-17.

North Platte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Hayes, who went 8 of 9 en route to 21 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Hayes a new career-high. Easton Jones was another key player, going 7 for 10 on his way to 14 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Liberty Tree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for North Platte, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-17 record.

Liberty Tree Academy is taking a road trip to square off against The Colorado Springs School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Platte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crete at 4:45 p.m. on February 8th.
