Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Lincoln Cardinals

For the second straight game, Roosevelt will face off against Lincoln. The Roughriders will square off against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 8.

Lincoln hit Roosevelt with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Roughriders came up short against the Cardinals, falling 8-1.

Oliver Immel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Roosevelt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zahir Hardy, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
