There's no place like home for Caddo Magnet, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Plain Dealing Lions on Monday as the Caddo Magnet Mustangs made off with a 17-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mustangs have posted since February 28, 2024.

Christina Hughes made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hughes was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Chaisson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Valerie Ruiz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Caddo Magnet's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Caddo Magnet will venture away from home to take on Sterlington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plain Dealing, they will challenge Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
