Basketball Recap: Gramercy Christian Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Gramercy Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Epiphany Falcons on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Gramercy Christian lost, don't look at Sam Long. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Luke Bowling was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 14 points.

Thomas Lathan had an outrageously good game for Epiphany as he dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Lathan has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cole Furniss, who scored 14 points and five boards.

Coming up, Gramercy Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Eastern Christian HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Epiphany, they will host John Paul II Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
