Football Recap: Neumann Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five games, Neumann finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrollwood Day Patriots. The Celtics were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

Despite the loss, Neumann still got an impressive performance from Jayden Petit, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one rushing score. Petit is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 107 every time he's taken the field this season.

Carrollwood Day found their leader in sophomore Kameron Battle, who rushed for 198 yards.

Neumann's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Carrollwood Day, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Neumann will look to defend their home field on Friday against First Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Celtics will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Carrollwood Day, they are taking a road trip to take on Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Storm at the right time seeing as the Storm are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
