Basketball Recap: Emerson Timm Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Arlington won the last time they faced Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Arlington Eagles took down Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 49-32. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Logan View/Scribner-Snyder are ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arlington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emerson Timm, who posted 13 points and six assists. Timm is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Britt Nielsen, who put up 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder had strong showings from Jayde Kreifels, who had seven points and three blocks, and Keegan Francis, who scored eight points. Neveah Vacha was another key player, putting up six points and eight boards.

The win made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-8.

Arlington will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has already played their next matchup, a 48-42 defeat against Raymond Central on the 23rd.
