Basketball Recap: West Park Has No Trouble Against Patterson

It was a proper cat-fight when West Park faced off against Patterson on Saturday. The West Park Panthers blew past the Patterson Tigers 62-37. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Tigers are ranked 837th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Johnson has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darian Alvarado, who posted ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for West Park and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Patterson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

West Park will face off against Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Foothill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season. As for Patterson, they will square off against Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
