Preview: Catoctin Cougars vs. North Hagerstown Hubs
The Catoctin Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the North Hagerstown Hubs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catoctin will be strutting in after a victory while North Hagerstown will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Catoctin didn't have too much trouble with Oakdale on the road as they won 49-35. 49 seems to be a good number for Catoctin as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Catoctin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Williams, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Catoctin's points. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Troxell, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Hagerstown had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a serious blow against Washington, falling 71-40.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Catoctin lost to North Hagerstown on the road by a decisive 55-37 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2015. Can Catoctin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
