Basketball Recap: North Miami Beach Falls Short of Pine Crest in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Miami Beach can now relate to. They took a hard 38-23 fall against the Pine Crest Panthers on Thursday.

North Miami Beach's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laila Henderson, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. Serena Volcy was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven boards and three steals.

Pine Crest was led to victory by Isabella Sangha and Franky Garfi. Sangha dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Garfi dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Garfi has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Holland, who earned seven assists, six boards, and three steals.

North Miami Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Pine Crest, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

North Miami Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pine Crest, they and Cardinal Gibbons will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Cardinal Gibbons will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Pine Crest surely won't give up without a fight.
