Baseball Recap: Chireno Gets the Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chireno). They came out on top against the Deweyville Pirates by a score of 6-2 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Owls also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Camden Nichols was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Nichols was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Tate Johnson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season.

Chireno's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-2. As for Deweyville, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Chireno will challenge Joaquin at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deweyville, they will take on Kirbyville in a tournament on Thursday.
