Even though the Monument Valley Cougars scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, the Merit Preparatory Academy Knights still came out on top. Merit Preparatory Academy secured a 71-66 W over Monument Valley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Merit Preparatory Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Merit Preparatory Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allan Mendonca, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Miles Petersen, who scored 20 points.
Merit Preparatory Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Monument Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Merit Preparatory Academy and Wayne will face off at 8:30 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wayne is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Monument Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Telos at 8:30 a.m. on December 16th. Telos is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
