Basketball Recap: Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

Athens Christian Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 81-25 loss at the hands of the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors. The Storm were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-14.

When it comes to explaining why Athens Christian Preparatory Academy lost, don't look at Nick Runte. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and three steals. That was a full 48% of Athens Christian Preparatory Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Athens Christian Preparatory Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Trinity Christian Academy and Whitewright will round out the year against one another at at 12:45 p.m. on December 27th. Trinity Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Whitewright likes a good challenge.
