Softball Recap: Swan Valley Comes Up Short

Swan Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alpena Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly three runs.

Alivia Guilbeaux was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Chloe Bryce was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Swan Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Alpena, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swan Valley will venture away from home to face off against Freeland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alpena, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Traverse City West at 4:15 p.m. on the 22nd.
