Softball Recap: Goodrich Takes a Loss

Goodrich couldn't beat Lake Orion on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Martians fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 5-4.

Jayden Gohs put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Anna Light made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Goodrich's loss dropped their record down to 27-9-1. As for Lake Orion, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8-1 record this season.

Goodrich and Lake Orion are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Martians will face off against Frankenmuth at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Orion, they will take on Walled Lake Northern on Saturday.
