Softball Recap: Armwood Takes a Loss

Armwood might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Robinson who claimed the real prize. The Armwood Hawks came up short against the Robinson Knights, falling 14-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Armwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justine Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Smith has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Armwood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Robinson, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armwood will challenge Plant City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Armwood has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Robinson, they will face off against Alonso at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
