Basketball Recap: Riverton Takes a Loss

Riverton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They were dealt a 68-22 defeat at the hands of the Auburn Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Trojans are ranked 275th).

Despite the loss, Riverton still got an impressive performance from Jordyn Durham, who posted 11 points and three blocks. That was a full 50% of Riverton's points, marking the fifth time in a row Durham has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Riverton's loss dropped their record down to 2-27. As for Auburn, their win bumped their record up to 16-14.

Riverton has already played their next match, a 59-12 defeat against Sacred Heart-Griffin on the 15th. Auburn has also already played their next contest (against Carlinville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
