Carter took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over the La Sierra Eagles. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Leading Carter to victory were Andre Thompson and Ryder Carson. Thompson rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while Carson threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns. Joey Martinez was Carson's top target, picking up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Carter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Carter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Noah Esquivel and Jaysahn Bostick.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carter will welcome Granite Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Sierra, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Sierra is looking for their season?s first victory.
