Basketball Recap: Dontaye Bell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Victory Baptist over Georgia Force Christian

Victory Baptist played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Georgia Force Christian Blue Knights, falling 79-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warrior have suffered since November 22, 2024.

Victory Baptist's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dontaye Bell, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Banks Jr, who scored 11 points.

Georgia Force Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carter McCarn, who went 11 for 22 on his way to 27 points and five rebounds. The game was McCarn's 23rd in a row with at least ten points. CJ Britt was another key player, going 11 of 19 en route to 23 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Victory Baptist and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Georgia Force Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Baptist will head out to take on Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Georgia Force Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Oak Mountain Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Georgia Force Christian has six straight wins, Oak Mountain Academy has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
