Basketball Recap: Arickaree Bison vs. Otis Bulldogs
Even though the Otis Bulldogs scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, the Arickaree Bison still came out on top. Arickaree managed a 70-66 victory over the Bulldogs. This was payback for Arickaree, who suffered a 70-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Arickaree's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was NICHOLAS HERMES, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of DILLON NOLETUBBY, who scored 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Otis had strong showings from Charlie Kendrick, who scored 24 points along with three steals, and Sawyer Packer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Packer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Grady Bechtle was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Arickaree's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Otis, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arickaree will take on the Hornets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Otis, they will be playing at home against the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
