Basketball Game Preview: Nottoway Cougars vs. Amelia County Raiders

Nottoway is 2-8 against Amelia County since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Nottoway Cougars will head out to square off against the Amelia County Raiders at 6:00 p.m.

Nottoway is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-31 heartbreaker at the hands of Randolph-Henry.

Meanwhile, Amelia County strolled past Randolph-Henry with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-24. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Statesmen: they've now won six in a row.

Nottoway's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Amelia County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Nottoway suffered a grim 53-30 defeat to Amelia County in their previous matchup back in January. Can Nottoway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
