Brillion extended their winning streak to nine on Monday, bumping them up to 10-2. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chilton Tigers a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.

Not much got past Joe Shimek, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Chilton off the board. Shimek has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brillion's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kelvin Gilbertson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Chilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1. The game marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Chilton's side, Nathan Mueller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

Coming up, Brillion will head out on the road to square off against Bonduel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chilton will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' contest: after the Lions face off against the Bears, they'll take on Chilton again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
