Preview: Bear Grass Charter Bears vs. Hobgood Charter Raiders
The Bear Grass Charter Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Hobgood Charter Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bear Grass Charter comes in on five and Hobgood Charter on three.
Bear Grass Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 79-66 win over Ocracoke. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Hobgood Charter put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-34 victory over Columbia on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Hobgood Charter just coasted through the last quarter.
Hobgood Charter relied on the efforts of Khrie Rascoe, who scored 21 points along with five assists and two steals, and Hudson Roberson, who scored 31 points along with eight rebounds. Roberson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Davis, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Bear Grass Charter is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Hobgood Charter, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Bear Grass Charter couldn't quite finish off Hobgood Charter in their previous meeting back in January and fell 41-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rascoe, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
