Islip took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Sayville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buccaneers skirted past the Golden Flashes 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Buccaneers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Islip got a great performance from Alex Rahner as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.
At the plate, Dylan Ruland was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.
Islip's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Sayville, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.
As of now, neither Islip nor the Golden Flashes have any future games scheduled.
