Baseball Recap: Cheatham County Central Takes a Loss

Cheatham County Central had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-19 to make it 14. They came up short against the Harpeth Indians, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-1 defeat two weeks ago.

As for Harpeth, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Harpeth's part, the team relied heavily on Aaron Higgs, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Higgs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Ealy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cheatham County Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harpeth, they have already played their next game, a 12-0 win against Hickman County on the 1st.
