Softball Recap: Countryside Christian Gets the Win

Countryside Christian proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Riley Keith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Mcleod, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Keith wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Countryside Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

Countryside Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Meadowbrook Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Countryside Christian will be playing at home against Jefferson County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5 runs per game on average), something Countryside Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Peniel Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
