Volleyball Recap: Lyford Takes a Loss

Lyford saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jones Trojans.

Jones was led to victory by Bailey Bondoc and Avery Lewis. Bondoc had 15 digs and seven assists, while Lewis had 15 digs and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Lewis a new career-high.

Lyford's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Jones, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Lyford will square off against Monte Alto at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Blue Devil at the right time seeing as the Blue Devil are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jones, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Santa Rosa at 3:00 p.m.
