Softball Recap: Woodstock Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against New London

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodstock Academy). They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the New London Whalers on Wednesday. The Centaurs haven't had any issues with the Whalers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Woodstock Academy got a massive performance out of Maci Corradi, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Corradi has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ellary Sampson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Woodstock Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Woodstock Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for New London, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodstock Academy will challenge Bacon Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New London, they will face off against Lyman Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
