Basketball Recap: Cornell Comes Up Short

Cornell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Lake Holcombe Chieftains 63-36. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-40 back in January.

Cornell's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Lake Holcombe, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornell will host Birchwood at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Birchwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Cornell likes a good challenge. As for Lake Holcombe, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against New Auburn at 7:15 p.m. New Auburn will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lake Holcombe surely won't give up without a fight.
