Football Game Recap: Seneca vs. Lamar

On Friday, Lamar put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. Everything went their way against Seneca as they made off with a 49-27 win. That looming 22-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lamar yet.

The matchup started off well for Lamar, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. Seneca put up 19, so the score was 21-19 at the half. The Lamar defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The victory bumped Lamar's record up to 5-0. The defeat dropped Seneca's record to 1-5.

Lamar will look to defend their home turf next week against East Newton at 7:00 PM. Lamar are cruising in on a five-game winning streak while East Newton are stumbling in off of five consecutive losses. As for Seneca, they will face off against Monett. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
