Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte vs. Riverdale

The Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons and the Riverdale Raiders will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games.

Charlotte's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Sebring. The result was nothing new for the Fightin' Tarpons, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Sebring with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Braxton Taylor (2), Kade Pena, Yeshua Amador, and Noah Wooten.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in November, Riverdale was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Gateway finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Charlotte's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those eight games. With that draw, Riverdale's record moves to 2-6-2.
