Volleyball Recap: Whitmer Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Whitmer waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Springfield Blue Devils with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Whitmer was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-8, 25-15.

Taylor Brown had a dynamite game, getting 12 digs and ten aces. Those ten aces gave her a new career-high.

Brown wasn't the only good servers: Whitmer was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only served five.

Whitmer's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Springfield, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Whitmer will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Copley at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Springfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Bowling Green on the 7th.
