Football Recap: Wallkill Valley Comes Up Short

Wallkill Valley might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Kittatinny Regional who claimed the real prize. The Rangers and the Cougars were almost perfectly matched up, but the Rangers suffered a 14-13 defeat. The game marked the Rangers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cole Bolich threw for 68 yards and one touchdown. Scottie Weiss was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Mason Yorke rushed for 61 yards.

Jack Brex continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kittatinny Regional, rushing for 107 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 100 yards and one touchdown. Brex also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making two total tackles. 85 of Brex's passing yards were hauled in by Niko Martinez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Wallkill Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Kittatinny Regional, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Wallkill Valley has already played their next matchup, a 34-7 victory against Hopatcong on the 3rd. As for Kittatinny Regional, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 36-22 win against Hackettstown on the 4th.
