Basketball Game Preview: Apache Junction Prospectors vs. Gilbert Christian Knights

The Apache Junction Prospectors are taking a road trip to take on the Gilbert Christian Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilbert Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Apache Junction, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Apache Junction didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Tonopah Valley, but they still walked away with a 38-34 win.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Gilbert Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Payson.

Gilbert Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Apache Junction, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Apache Junction was dealt a bruising 78-33 defeat at the hands of Gilbert Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2015. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Apache Junction was down 50-13.
