Softball Recap: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Los Alamos Hilltoppers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Farmington, Bloomfield was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Los Alamos Hilltoppers 10-8. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bloomfield also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Bloomfield got a massive performance out of Gracey Wortman, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double. Angel Campbell was another key contributor, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run and three runs.
On Los Alamos' side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mika Stanfield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of K?Lee Warwick, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Los Alamos, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Bloomfield will head out on the road to square off against Eldorado at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eldorado is coming into the match with six straight victories at home, so Bloomfield will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
