Football Game Preview: Sioux City West Wolverines vs. Spencer Tigers

The Sioux City West Wolverines will venture away from home to take on the Spencer Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sioux City West is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Sioux City West was beaten by Le Mars 38-6. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, while it was Spencer who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Fort Dodge who put up more. The Tigers received a blow as they fell 47-28 to the Dodgers. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dodgers 7-0 in the first quarter.

Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Sioux City West, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.

Sioux City West took a serious blow against Spencer in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 41-0. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
