Basketball Recap: Glencoe Comes Up Short

Glencoe came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Piedmont Bulldogs by a score of 45-42 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Yellowjackets have suffered since February 9, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Glencoe saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kinlee Montgomery went 10 for 22 on her way to 25 points.

Glencoe's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Piedmont, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Glencoe has already played their next contest, a 52-38 win against Ohatchee on the 9th. As for Piedmont, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Anniston at 6:00 p.m.
