Basketball Game Preview: South River Rams vs. Metuchen Bulldogs

The South River Rams will face off against the Metuchen Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Metuchen likes a good challenge.

Last Monday, South River earned a 68-57 victory over Highland Park.

Meanwhile, Metuchen's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Monday. They took a blow against Johnson, falling 59-23. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

South River pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Metuchen, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

South River was able to grind out a solid victory over Metuchen in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 57-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for South River since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
