Basketball Recap: Liberty's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Liberty hadn't done well against Washington Union recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Liberty Hawks blew past the Washington Union Panthers 64-41. The score was close at the half, but the Hawks pulled away in the second half with 37 points.

Liberty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mauro Farinelli, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Farinelli has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gavin Pattan, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Liberty's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-10. As for Washington Union, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will host Parlier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington Union, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
