Volleyball Recap: Lincoln County Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln County duked it out with Chapmanville Regional on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since September 25th.

While Lincoln County was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 26-24.

Bella Dingess paced Lincoln County's offense, picking up 11 kills. Dingess got some help from Jillian Starcher and her 20 assists. Raylee Elswick controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-25-1. As for Chapmanville Regional, their win ended a six-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-20.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. After both having extra time off, Lincoln County and Spring Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will face off against Tug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
