Recap: Eagle's View Warriors vs. Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks
There's no place like home for The Eagle's View Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took down Cornerstone Charter Academy 42-26 on Thursday. The victory was just what Eagle's View needed coming off of a 40-16 defeat in their prior game.
Eagle's View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leonard Holton out in front who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Another player making a difference was Jaycen Lowery, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Cornerstone Charter Academy to a paltry 143 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Eagle's View's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Gary DeLeon-Rivera and his two sacks.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Tanielu Cox, who punched in three rushing scores.
Eagle's View's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Eagle's View will face off against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is ranked 527th, while Eagle's View is ranked 508th). Cornerstone Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
