Recap: Turner County Titans vs. Portal Panthers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Turner County Titans can now relate to. They suffered a tough 35-12 loss at the hands of Portal on Friday. Turner County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.
Despite the loss, Turner County still got an impressive performance from Ke'arrin Dawsey, who picked up 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Portal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Coleman out in front who rushed for 61 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 132 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Landon Ross and his 114 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Portal's victory.
Turner County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Portal, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Turner County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Portal will be playing at home against Telfair County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Telfair County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
