Camarillo waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 34-22 victory over the Torrey Pines Falcons. Given the Scorpions' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Falcons are ranked 29th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

One reason for the win was Camarillo's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Riley Kavanagh. Nieve Oliver got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Camarillo's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Torrey Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Camarillo has already played their next matchup, a 26-13 victory against Marshall on the 26th. As for Torrey Pines, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 30-20 loss against Etiwanda on the 26th.
