The Southwestern Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Salamanca Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Southwestern: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Salamanca has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road.
Southwestern scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Allegany-Limestone by a score of 57-50.
Meanwhile, Salamanca beat Clymer Central 65-52 on Saturday. Given Salamanca's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Clymer Central is ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Southwestern's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for Salamanca, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
