Baseball Recap: Mesquite Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mesquite had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Arcadia Titans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

The result came thanks to Jacob Martinez's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Matthew Rooney was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Andres Lozano was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Mesquite's record is now 7-15-1. As for Arcadia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Mesquite will have a chance to go back-to-back against Arcadia: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
