Softball Game Preview: East Paulding Raiders vs. Veterans Warhawks

The East Paulding Raiders will square off against the Veterans Warhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East Paulding 3.9, Veterans 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Veterans will take on a team with plenty of momentum: East Paulding extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Raiders never let South Paulding get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

Not much got past Emma Hernandez, who gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks to keep South Paulding off the board. Hernandez has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chloe Grier was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Kennedi Nye also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Veterans faced Northside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Warhawks were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Patriots. The Warhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

East Paulding's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Veterans, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.

Everything went East Paulding's way against Veterans in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as East Paulding made off with a 10-4 win. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
