Softball Recap: California Military Institute Comes Up Short

California Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-9 to the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rough Riders of the 35-18 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Alanis Nunez and Fernanda Torres did some serious damage despite the final result: Nunez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Torres scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Bella Delgado was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

California Military Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Desert Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. California Military Institute will take on rival San Jacinto Valley Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Nuview Bridge at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
