Soccer Game Preview: Payson vs. Spanish Fork

Payson hasn't had much luck against Spanish Fork recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will face off against the Dons at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Payson came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to Wasatch.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fork came up short against Maple Mountain on Tuesday and fell 3-1. Spanish Fork have struggled against Maple Mountain recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Payson couldn't quite get it done against Spanish Fork in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
