Softball Recap: Camelback Takes a Loss

Camelback extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 2-15. They lost 15-5 to the Alhambra Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Alhambra, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Alhambra's part, Lillyana Reyes and Emelie Bello did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Bello got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Bello has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Natalia Cervantes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Camelback didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-1 loss against Apollo on the 27th. As for Alhambra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-7 defeat against Cesar Chavez on the 24th.
