Volleyball Recap: Walnut Grove's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Walnut Grove had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bishop Lynch Friars. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Friars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2023.

Danielle Whitmire paced Walnut Grove's offense, picking up 13 kills. Whitmire got some help from Maleah Evans and her 23 assists. Whitmire was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Walnut Grove's record now sits at 16-5. As for Bishop Lynch, they moved to 13-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Walnut Grove has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Wylie on the 30th. As for Bishop Lynch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Sunnyvale on the 30th.
