Soccer Game Preview: Prospect vs. Buffalo Grove

The Prospect Knights will venture away from home to take on the Buffalo Grove Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prospect's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Prospect took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They beat Wheeling by a goal, winning 2-1. Given Prospect's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Wheeling are ranked 270th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Pomian and Ryan Ivanov scored both of Prospect's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Barrington.

Prospect's win bumped their record up to 7-2-4. As for Buffalo Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12-3.
